The HOPE members that signed up to go to Sunflower had a great time today. Groups of 4-5 HOPE members gave students in Mrs. Pennington, Mrs. Oakley, Mrs. McDaniel, and Mrs. Meridith's rooms instructions on how to make their own mummies with yarn and googly eyes. Thank you so much to these teachers for opening up their classrooms to our students! On the way back to the Middle School, the members were all smiles as they talked about their experiences in the classrooms. They critiqued their presentations and gave themselves performance goals for the next time. Great job! Way to work on Helping Other People Everyday!

Students that signed up for the Elementary Visit walked to Cottonwood to work with Mrs. Armbruster's 2nd grade classroom. There were 22 members of HOPE that helped their buddies to color a race track, trees, buildings, and a car. On the walk back to the Middle School the HOPE members kept talking about how much they had enjoyed working with the 2nd graders. Mrs. Armbruster reported that her students were so excited to have their middle school buddies that it was hard to get them to pack up to go home! Thanks for letting us bring our HOPE group Mrs. Armbruster! We will visit this class again in November for some Turkey decorating fun! |
